Atlanta, GA (August 8, 2025) – A tragic crash on Interstate 85 North claimed two lives and closed the interstate for more than two hours late Thursday night, August 7, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).
The collision occurred around 10:30 p.m. near Senoia Road. A Hyundai Sonata and a tractor-trailer were involved in the incident.
Authorities confirmed that the car’s driver, Derrick Epps, and front-seat passenger, Ka’Mia Frazier, died at the scene. A 7-month-old child riding in the back seat was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Arthur M. Blank Hospital for evaluation but appeared to be unharmed. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
The interstate was shut down for approximately two and a half hours and reopened shortly after 12:30 a.m. This remains an active investigation, and further details are expected to be released as they become available.
