The incident occurred along the 1400 block of West Broad Avenue when a westbound 2010 Toyota Camry went out of control. Investigators said the vehicle struck a mailbox before overturning multiple times.

The crash remains under investigation by Albany police.
Georgia Car Crashes
Every year, thousands of people across Georgia are injured in traffic accidents, with the highest number of crashes concentrated in and around metro Atlanta. Busy roadways such as I-75, I-285, and I-20 see constant congestion, heavy commercial truck traffic, and fast-moving vehicles—all factors that make them frequent sites of serious collisions. The Georgia Department of Transportation continues to rank motor vehicle crashes as one of the state’s leading causes of injury.
When accidents involve multiple vehicles, the consequences can be devastating. Victims often face not only immediate injuries but also long-term medical challenges, emotional strain, and financial hardship. Some of the most common causes of injury crashes on Georgia roads include:
- Tailgating and Sudden Stops – Drivers who follow too closely during heavy traffic create dangerous chain-reaction crashes when vehicles ahead slow down abruptly.
- Improper Lane Changes – Failing to check blind spots, signaling too late, or weaving between lanes can easily cause sideswipes or pileups.
- Distracted Driving – Glancing at a phone, adjusting a navigation system, or eating behind the wheel can reduce reaction times and trigger serious collisions.
- Speeding in Congestion – Accelerating during brief traffic breaks only to slam on the brakes seconds later puts everyone at risk of high-impact, multi-car wrecks.
Injury crashes in Georgia can leave victims facing mounting hospital bills, missed time from work, physical pain, and ongoing stress. When someone else’s negligence causes these hardships, you shouldn’t be left to carry the burden alone.
