DeKalb Co., GA - Stolen Vehicle Crashes, Injures Four on Yorkdale Dr

DeKalb Co., GA (August 18, 2025) — A call about a suspicious vehicle escalated into a police pursuit and crash on Sunday morning, August 17, according to DeKalb County police.

Authorities say officers received a report around 10:07 a.m. of a vehicle acting suspiciously near Yorkdale Drive and Wellington Court. When police later spotted the car at South Hairston Road and Covington Highway, they determined it had been stolen.

Officers stated the driver ignored red lights and sped off, leading them on a chase. The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in the 1700 block of South Hairston Road.

Video sent to Channel 2 showed a heavy police response in the area following the crash. Inside the stolen car were four people—two adults and two teenagers. All were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries. Investigators have not yet released their names or ages.
