Georgia Car Crashes
Each year, Georgia experiences more than 300,000 motor vehicle accidents, and tragically, thousands of these crashes result in loss of life. Fatal collisions are a heartbreaking reality on Georgia’s roadways, often leaving families to deal with overwhelming grief, financial hardship, and unanswered questions.
According to state and national data, the vast majority of deadly crashes can be traced back to human error. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that over 90% of fatal accidents across the country are caused by preventable driver behavior. In Georgia, some of the leading causes of deadly collisions include:
- Speeding or reckless driving
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Distracted driving, including phone use
- Fatigue or falling asleep behind the wheel
- Failure to obey traffic signals or right-of-way laws
When a loved one is killed in a car accident, surviving family members are often left to pick up the pieces. In addition to emotional trauma, they may be burdened with funeral expenses, lost household income, and medical bills related to emergency care. Filing a wrongful death claim can help hold negligent parties accountable and provide much-needed financial relief during an incredibly difficult time.
Fatal crash cases are often more complex than standard personal injury claims, involving insurance disputes, accident reconstruction, and, in some cases, corporate or government liability. That’s why it’s essential to work with a law firm that has deep experience in serious and fatal collision cases.
